Holidays in Palm Springs

Whether you choose to spend it relaxing at your Palm Springs vacation rental or taking in all of the great activities nearby, there’s nothing like Fourth of July in Palm Springs. Hot dogs, fireworks and baseball are just a few of the classic components of Independence Day you’ll discover in the valley – there’s also pool parties, dancing the night away and family-friendly fun. Here are our top five ways to celebrate America’s independence in Palm Springs.
Take us out to the ball game! Palm Springs Stadium will host a baseball game between Palm Springs POWER and the San Diego Force. Tickets are only $8 per person and the game begins at 6 p.m.
The rockets’ red glare. Right after the game, the skies above Palm Springs will erupt with a fireworks display visible from just about everywhere in the area. Check it out from the Palm Springs Stadium, which will offer free admission beginning at 8 p.m. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs if you want to sit on the field. Rather barbecue and enjoy your Palm Springs vacation rental? The fireworks should be visible from the back yard.
Come on in, the water’s fine! No matter what’s happening in Palm Springs on the Fourth of July, it will be hot. Let the whole family cool off with the Palm Springs Swim Center’s Pool Party. Complete with games, family friendly entertainment and an inflatable pool slide, the party begins at 2 p.m. and is $2 for kids up to 12 and $6 for everyone else.
Giving back while getting down. Each Fourth of July, the historic O’Donnel House hosts an epic party to raise funds for the AIDS Assistance Program. A BBQ dinner, dancing to an off-the-hook DJ and an open bar are all included for $150 per person. The party starts at 7:30 p.m. and continues long after the glow of the fireworks has faded.
Just up the road. The Palm Desert Independence Day Celebration at Palm Desert Civic Center Park includes a 25-minute fireworks show, concert and an assortment of food vendors.
