Top Nine Things to Do in the Coachella Valley - There’s a reason the Palm Springs desert area has become one of Southern California’s favorite vacation destinations. From top art museums to some of the best golfing the world, the attractions here will bring you back again and again. Although narrowing down the list was difficult, here are our top nine things to do in Coachella Valley.

Ride the Palm Springs Tram – High above the Coachella Valley is Mt. San Jacinto State Park and getting there is half the fun with the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The Palm Springs tram travels 2.5 miles to the summit. Once there, enjoy hiking, dining, a gift shop and a natural history museum.

Relax by the pool. The area’s mild weather means pool time can be any time. Coachella Valley vacation rentals with a pool are easy to find with just a click of your mouse.
Take in the art. Chagall, Picasso and Warhol are just some of the renowned artists whose work can be discovered at the Palm Springs Art Museum, which boasts a world-class collection of art.

It’s a zoo out there. The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens offers an in-depth look at the desert ecosystem as well as a glimpse at wildlife from around the world. Plan to spend three to four hours, but doing so in the morning is your best bet in the summer.

What’s a vacation without a little shopping? Shopping in the Coachella Valley is a never-ending voyage of wonder. A few of our favorite spots are El Paseo in Palm Desert, the River at Rancho Mirage and Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs.

Palm Springs Air Museum. Widely considered one of the world’s best aviation museums, the Palm Springs Air Museum exhibits – and flies – planes from World War Two, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

Sunnylands – The former home of the Annenbergs hosted heads of state and Hollywood icons and is now open to the public. Gardens, exhibits and tours of the mid-century home are all available at the Rancho Mirage estate.

Play a round or two. Golf courses in the Coachella Valley are some of the best in the world. You’ll find about 18 courses between Palm Springs and Indio, including PGA West, one of the top golf destinations in North America.

Get a massage – and a facial and maybe a body scrub. Massage therapists and spas in the Coachella Valley are some of the best in the world. Indulge yourself with a decadent body treatment.
