The Palm Springs International Film Festival was originally started by Mayor Sonny Bono in 1989. Since its inception, it has grown to become one of the premiere film festivals in the United States. The festival is held every year in January, and nearly 135,000 people flock to the Coachella Valley from all over the world to witness the latest movie talent from around the globe.
